- A non-magnesium supplement to support mares in season
- Contains Wheatgerm Extract, proven to help with challenging oestrus associated behaviour in mares in as little as 48 hours* WGE has a prebiotic like functionality that optimises gut flora balance helping the body’s own mechanisms regulate themselves which in turn supports mares that may suffer with challenging oestrus-associated behaviour
- With added B vitamins and natural botanical extracts including Chasteberry, Chamomile, Vervain and Red Clover to support healthy maintenance of the nervous system
- Developed by world-leading veterinary surgeons and scientists
- No added sugar formulation
- Tested for a wide range of naturally occurring prohibited substances
- Increases owners’ enjoyment of their mare during oestrus

Research
Recent research developments indicate close links between the gut microbiome and the brain. [1]
- V.I.P. Miracle Mare contains Wheatgerm Extract (WGE) which supports the microbiome, helping to optimise gut flora balance which in turn has positive effects on behaviour to support mares throughout their oestrus cycle.
- Signs of improvement after supplementation of WGE have been observed in as little as 36-48 hours. [2]
Proven Results
Published in the Veterinary Times (2016) trials demonstrated that WGE had a statistically significant positive effect on behaviours including kicking, biting, aggression, grumpiness, bucking, weaving, squirting, diffculty tacking-up and poor performance in oestrus mares. Continuous fed supplementation in summer significantly reduced bad behaviour associated with ovulation (Fig.1).
Subsequently, cessation resulted in a return to challenging behaviour during the next oestrus cycle and this was rescued with resumption of supplementation of WGE showing significant improvements in scores (Fig.1).

Fig.1. Mean behavioural scores in mares during winter anoestrus and summer oestrus, then during supplementation with [WGE], subsequent cessation and resumption of supplementation.
Daily supplementation of WGE significantly reduced signs of bad behaviour returning scores to those seen during winter periods of anoestrus (Fig.2).

Fig.2. Mean behavioural scores in mares prior to supplementation, following supplementation at the onset of oestrus and/or challenging behaviour and during subsequent oestrus when supplementation was not given.
Behavioural signs of oestrus can be alleviated quickly
In mares supplemented at the onset of oestrus, significant improvements in behaviour were observed as soon as 12 hours and, in all cases, by 36 hours to 48 hours. Proving that dietary supplementation with WGE offers an effective, safe and cost-effective solution to the frustrating problem of challenging oestrus behaviour in mares.
